This is a conversion calculator that is used to convert Roman numbers to decimal numbers. It has two blank text fields and two control buttons that perform independent functions of the calculator. The first procedure is to enter the roman number in the first text field. Press the ‘Convert’ button to initiate the conversion from Roman numerals to a decimal number.

This converter can only perform one conversion at a time. The ‘Reset’ button is used to erase all data of the previous conversions from the calculator. The result is displayed in the next text field as a decimal number.

Convert XXVI to a decimal number

Solution

First, enter the value in Roman numerals (XXVI) in the blank text field. Press the ‘Convert’ button to initiate the conversion from roman number to decimal number. The conversion result is displayed as;

Decimal number: 26

Therefore, the Roman number XXVI is equal to the decimal number 26.

Use the same procedure when converting new values in Roman numbers to get the corresponding result in adecimal number.

Solution

First, enter the value in the blank text field (38) and then click the adjacent ‘Convert’ button. This gives you the result as;

Roman number: XXXVIII

This implies that the decimal number 38 can also be expressed in Roman numerals as XXXVIII.
