Variance Calculator
Variance Calculator
It is used to determine the variance, standard deviation and mean of a certain population. It uses a formula in executing the calculations. The first step is to enter the values in the first text field. It can either be separated using commas or spaces. You will then select the type of data whether it is a whole population data or a sample data. Click the ‘Calculate’ button to perform the calculation. Your answers will be displayed in terms of variance, standard deviation and the mean of the data type. If you want to perform new calculations, you will clear the previous calculations using the ‘Reset’ button.For example;
Find the variance of the following data of the whole population. 5, 7, 9, 11, 14, 17Solution
You will enter the values in the first text field using the commas or spaces. Select the data type as ‘whole population data’ and then click the ‘Calculate’ button. The answers will be displayed as;Variance = 16.583333333
Standard Deviation = 4.0722639076
Mean = 10.5
The same procedure can be repeated whenever you want to perform new calculation. If you were determining the sampled data using 5, 7, 9, 11, 14, 17, then the results will be displayed as;
Variance = 19.9
Standard deviation = 4.4609416046
Mean = 10.5
The discrete random variable variance calculator uses the probability and data number to determine the variance, mean and standard deviation. It has two columns and multiple rows. You will enter the values of probability and data number in their respective columns and then press the ‘Calculate’ button. If there are several values, you will extend the rows using the ‘Add row’ button. The ‘Reset’ button is used to erase the previous calculations from the text fields. It is the fastest way of resetting the calculator when you want to carry out new calculations.
