Houston Time Now

Houston uses two time zones, the Central Standard Time (CST) and the Central Daylight Time (CDT). It is located in Texas and is usually 6 hours behind the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) in the standard time. During the daylight saving time, Houston is set 5 hours behind the GMT and UTC. However, the usage of daylight saving time (DST) is not practiced in Houston unlike other areas of Texas. The eastern part makes most of Texas and uses the Central Standard Time which is 6 hours behind the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT-6).

The time in Texas is usually shifted back by 1 hour after the summer months to the standard time. When the time is shifted forward by one hour during the daylight saving time observed in other regions of Texas, it leads to a 5 hours and 6 hours difference behind the GMT. This applies to the Eastern and Western regions of Texas respectively. TC and El Paso are the cities in Texas which operate on the Mountain Time. A time converter will be useful when you want to compare the time difference between this city and your country or when you are about to travel to Houston.
